Bait Detector 3000 ("the extension") is built to help users identify clickbait on YouTube. This policy explains what data is accessed, how it is used, and what is never collected.
What We Access
- YouTube page content — The extension reads video titles and transcripts from YouTube pages solely to perform clickbait analysis at the user's explicit request. This data is sent to the Anthropic API (Claude AI) to generate a score and summary. It is not stored, logged, or shared beyond what is necessary to return the result to the user.
What We Store Locally
- API key or license key — Stored on your device using Chrome's local storage API. Never transmitted to our servers (BYO key mode) or transmitted only for validation (subscription mode).
Subscription Tier
If you subscribe, your Google account ID is used solely to bind your license key to your account and prevent sharing. Your email is used to deliver your license key. No other personal information is collected, stored, or sold.
What We Never Do
- We never sell, share, or monetize your data
- We never track your browsing history
- We never store YouTube content or transcripts
- We never run ads or share data with advertisers
